well newer rifles are quicker to use and load , but old’er’ rifles are still and sometimes more accurate. still i perfer old guns.

Thats not an old gun! :] i just got a Winchester 1906 today for $40 bucks Cleaned it, polished it, and re-stained the stock and fore-end. Looks good as new.
Well anyways i am new to old guns where could i get scope rings or a rail? Because the sights on it arent very good

And ill compare it to my Magnum Research Maglite .22 and Ruger 10/22 because i dont think these old gun would be that accurate, but who know i could be wrong.

    Well nice video!

well omega, some of us like to shoot way past what the iron sight can be setup for. Also, Not sure I have ever seen a m1890, but will do some looking. I also squirrel hunt with this rifle and sometimes, I need to be absoultely sure that I will kill the animal humanely. Thats why I have a scope on it… Is that ok with you?

Arrg! Why would you stick a scope on that rifle? Iron sights or bust! especially with that beaut’
Actually I don’t like the sleek design they went with. I much more prefer my Winchester model 1890 with the visible hammer!

i found another bullet i put it in the tube and it cycled perfectly . I did take the hammer stock apart from the reciever it is pretty dirty from years of shooting; fireing pin is fine to

well the first thing I would do is to take the sucker apart and give it a thorough cleaning. If that doesnt do it, then check your ammo. It could also be the ammo, but mine will feed just fine on the brick stuff. also check your forcing cone by placing a shell in manually and making sure it will go all the way inside. If that works then check your slide, it could be catching on somehting, Let me know what you find out and we can go from there. Thanks for the comment, please subscribe.-woohog1

hey i own a winchester model 61 also just recently it jamed up quite bad but it works fine now i know the problem on that one is to clean it but i had some old lead tip holow point shells from a year or 2 back and it wont feed them into the rifle properly but when i use a shotshell it works perfectly now i cant say it wont do it to newer shells because i dont have any right now i was just wondering if you had this problem with old bullets in the model 61 or just shitty bullets in a 500 brick

Got myself a m-14 as well shooting torso size groupings at 300 yds, using redfield 3-9 scope.Thank you for your service, It is appreciated. Ill apologize, to the extent that I should not have used the tone, that I did, but not for the meaning of the comment. I really like the 61,very versatile, and a great all around plinker if you ask me, I use it mostly for squirrel and rabbit huntin. Ill take it over a modified ruger 10-22 anyday of the week. Check out some of my other vids and see if u like.

sorry man! settle down. I’m a drunken old soldier. They handed me an M-14 back in 67 for use on “big game.” Now I guess I think I’m a “know it all.” I owned a model 61 many years ago. Like alot of things I pissed it away too. I’m just envious. I’m sure you are a nice guy and a crack shot. Please accept this apology from a broken down broke dick old vet.

by the way Delbert, learn to spell also, its is spelled Ruger, no Rueger, so just so you can sound like even more of a bad ass and spell it correctly next time. Also what does a Ruger have to do with playing sniper? I bet that is the only make of gun you know so thats why you said that. Must be nice to be a friggin expert on ranges and the like.If you must know I had been shooting various rounds to get an idea of the “effective, lethal” range that round can be shot at.

  12. 12 woohog1 said at 5:30 pm on July 19th, 2010:

How far exactly can you shoot accurately with open sights on the twenty two? bout 2 feet I would venture to say. Post a video response, or shut your mouth. Where are your videos that make you the expert? all I see are some queers standing with what look like song books, Wow, you must really get laid. But seriously, make your own vids, then run your mouth.

Nice ‘ol rifle in the hands of an idiot.
Take that stupid ass scope off and get real. If you can’t hit with open sights with a Winn. model 61 twenty two cal then you shouldn’t own one. It’s an antique .22 rifle for Christ’s sake! Go get a Rueger if you want to play “sniper.”
