This is a big boy, a Colt Trooper 357 Magnum MK V, with a 7.5 inch ribbed barrel. First gun my husband ever owned; so I guess I must be a really special person for him to let me shoot it:))) As with other large caliber, this is my first time. You know the story, he never thought I can handle anything larger than a 22 LR until recently I surprised him by shooting his Smith & Wesson M&P 9mm quite well. This is gun is not too bad. It is HUGE, but it doesn’t kick as much as a semi auto, like a Colt 1911 45 ACP or Smith Wesson MP 9mm. I used 38 caliber but I’m sure I can handle the 357 Magnum as well. It is a beautiful gun, my husband says it looks a bit like a Colt Python or a cowboy gun. Not exactly, but there is a similarity. We had some quality trigger time on the range. The “run and gun” course was really fun - it combines different weapon systems, marksmanship and moving around.
