The “Crickett” .22 single shot rifle is an American classic. The lightweight and affordable Crickett combines excellent build quality, fast handling, a good trigger, a simple battery of arms, excellent peep sights, a good looking and functional stock, and compact size that fits kids perfectly. It Is the perfect training rifle to teach your small shooters responsible and safe gun handling, trigger and sight picture control, and ammunition conservation… all while having fun. Produced by the Keystone Sporting Arms Company in Milton, PA, the gun is backed by a company that has shown superior customer service with its customers. The diminutive Crickett rifle comes in a wide variety stocks, finishes, and even is offered in a full sized adult version, the Model 300 (all models and styles subject to change of course). Shown in the video is the Model 252 Crickett rifle and it has served my family well (”Chipmunk” branded .22 rifles are also very similar). These guns make memorable gifts items for your family members and are affordable heirloom items. Accuracy, durability, and ease of use are all superb. Surprisingly, this is a fun gun to shoot and costs next to nothing to do so. Bolt actuation adds to the fun and simple plunger bolt is effective. There are other single shot rifle options but the Crickett rifle is my favorite and has my highest recommendation. . /////////////Nutnfancy Likeability Scale: 10 of 10

The Marlin Papoose .22 rifle is an excellent all-around .22 rifle choice. Weighing only 3.2 lbs (!) and having the capability to break down easily into a buoyant carry case, the Papoose is extremely portable. It is lighter and more compact than most other .22s around. And unlike some other previous survival .22s, its accurate and reliable while still offering adequate firepower. Other features include a grooved receiver for scope mounting, last shot hold open, high visibility open sights, stainless steel construction, sling swivels, a decent trigger, a fiberglass polycarbonate stock, and the availability of 10 rd magazines (7 rd standard). The Marlin Papoose will function well in different roles: family .22 rifle, survival kit gun, or backpacking gun. The version shown wears a compact and lightweight Weaver 4×28 Classic Rimfire scope (#849430, SWFA.com) which maximizes its accuracy. Its the best .22 pack rifle around.

“Circles of Death” .22 Rifle Drill by Nutnfancy

You can have an amazing amount of fun at your indoor or outdoor range with your .22 rifle. Welcome to the Nutnfancy “Circles of Death” .22 (or airgun) Drill or COD. A computer generated sheet with precise 3/8″ circles, stacked in neat rows, provide the target. Plan on using a good scope, preferably one that focus down to close ranges for maximum accuracy (Weaver RV9 shown, recommended still). If you have two shooting lanes then two shooters can compete against each other as shown in a elevated stress rapid fire drill where accuracy will win the day. My favorite gun in these drills is the .22 bolt action rifle. The Marlin 925 is one of the best in the world I think: ultra smooth, fast, holds 10 rounds (with the Marlin 10 rd mag purchased separately), has a great trigger (T900), is amazingly accurate with its Micro Groove rifling (really works), lightweight, has a perfect barrel profile, and is extremely affordable. In this vid, this quintessential and personal favorite .22 bolt gun goes up against the also excellent CZ 452 “American.” The quality levels in terms of finish in the 452 are higher: gorgeous walnut stock with sharp checkering and an amazing bluing job. It also has a great trigger and top notch accuracy. However in this drill its bolt manipulation is a distant second when binding is encountered and a special techinque is needed to achieve the faster speeds of the Marlin 925. Polishing the bolt and components may help slick it up (however that shouldn’t be needed

This video is for those viewers that have asked me - What ammo should I use? What ammo is the best? What ammo do you use in the shooting vids? What ammo will work best in my gun? I can’t answer all of those, since I’m no ammo expert! But I can show what I have on hand and discuss my experience with each one. This isn’t a commercial for any one brand, just showing what I have used. I’m NOT saying these are the best, or that you must use the same brand as me. Just my thoughts on them. I’ll …
