Little .22 bolt action guns are a riot. They’re fun and engaging recreational shooting options for everyone. In some ways theyre easier and less intimidating instructional tools for kids, some female, or new shooters. The Serbian-made Zastava Z5 Youth gun is just such a rifle. Formerly imported by Charles Daley, Interarms, and then marketed by Remington Model Five (version shown and discussed here), this little .22 bolt gun fun and fast. Bolt lift is only 60º and the action is smooth. Trigger out of the box is a bit stagey buy as shown can be easily improved using factory adjustment screws. Current versions wear a press checkered laminated stock but other hardwood versions, like this one, have been issued. This stock is diminuitive for the smaller shooter and features 12 3/8″ length of pull (vs 13 3/8″ for adult Z5 model). Weighing only 5 ½ lbs (6 lbs with laminated stocks), the Rem Five/Z5 is quick into action and won’t weigh down the new shooter (as long as you dont mount a heavy optic!). The bluing in this model is superb: high gloss and smooth. The Z5 comes with a 5 round magazine with is a bit thumb busting but ruggedly built. My second Heritage Arms revolver, this one with adjustable high visibility sights and a 6.5 inch barrel. This thing shoots like a dream and it is a lot of fun to shoot, accurate as well if you do your part. It comes with two cylinders, one is 22 LR and the other in 22 Magnum so you get a great value for less than 0. I highly recommend it and if you search the web for reviews you’ll be astonished at the amount of great reviews users post for these Heritage Arms revolvers - quite a good value.!
Trying out the NAA .22 Mag. This little gun is a handful! It has interchangeable cylinders for .22LR and .22 Mag. The music in my intro is royalty free music from Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com) called “Cattails”.
I bought this gun from a gun show brand new, from Cherokee Gun and Pawn of Canton Ga. had it 2 weeks and 224 rounds thru it and it fails to rotate the chamber. Call them and asked for a refund, they offered me .00 bucks but if I send it to naa which is costing me 15.00 they will fix it under the warranty. and then it will be worth to trade in at pawn shop only 0.00. BULL CRAP. I was wanting to just buy the kel-tec p3at they sell and Cherokee Gun and Pawn don’t care, so neither do I anymore. these guns are suppose to be good but only for 150 rounds then send it in for repair, will not buy another unless they prove me different. but for me to have too pay 15.00 more to ship it and be without my gun for 3 weeks is really bull so KNOW WHAT YOUR BUYING AND MAKE SURE YOU CAN LIVE WITHOUT IT FOR A FEW WEEKS BEFORE BUYING.
The man at the gun store said you can’t hit the door from more than 10 feet away with this little gun. That was a gross exaggeration. 5 paces away is a realistic distance for a defensive shooting. This model has no rear sight. This videos just shows that you can hit a man or dog sized target.
