Review of my Anschutz 1517 rifle. I have just found out that a thumbhole stock is now available for this gun so expect a review of that soon - depending on price. This is the gun I use for the majority of my rabbit and rat shooting and whilst nowhere near as cheap as using a .22, I much prefer the .17HMR as the extra ‘whack’ from the supersonic ballistic tip rounds make for a more humane job. We had some friends down at the farm and they had brought some of there rifles so we took a few shots at our 2.5 inch steel plate to see what different calibers would do to it we shot it with 22-250 44 Magnum 243 WSSM 308 and 30-06. we were shooting the plate from about 30 meters.
The Stevens Model 200 is in my opinion an excellent hunting rifle, and if you are a police marksmen who has to buy his own rifle it could also serve in that function as well. The Calibers of the stevens 200 are 223 22-250 243 25-06 270 7mm-08 308 30-06 7mm rem mag 300 win mag So take your pick and expect to get out the door with the rifle for less than 0 with a very high value gun.
A quick glimpse into my September 2010 trip to the local gun club, where 2 friends and I shot a few of our various rifles and handguns. We shot a Ruger 10/22, Remington 22, Savage Arms 243, Ruger Mini-14 (223), Ruger LCR (38 revolver), Smith & Wesson Model 63 (22 revolver), and a Ruger SP101 (357 Magnum). I love going to the range!
