@lioncrater The 686 in the vid is a sqaure butt. All the newer 686s are round butts.
@zboyco Yes it has the SW logo on the handle.
@rmstudio could be an aftermarket. does it have the S&W logo on the grips?
Question for you I got this same model bought it used from a dealer but it came with a more “Red” wood handle pretty sure its a cherrywood handle. Was this a standard in the pre 1994 as I am looking at yours and it looks a bit like a walnut were I believe mine looks like a Cherry wood. Any thoughts?
I’ve got the same gun. S&W 686-1 6″ barrel. The single action trigger is just beautiful. And the piece is heavy enough that even the hottest loads dont slam your palm at all. Accurate, a real tool of a handgun!
How much did it cost?
is the 686 a round butt or square butt frame?
@winchestermag yea burn rings on the front dont bother me. they too much of a bitch to try to get off
Beautiful gun. I have one also. I noticed ya keep the “Burn” rings on the front of the cylinder. Alot of people do. I have ocd with mine and have to have it spotless..LOL Keep it forever, man…
you mention the thicker material on the cylinder. It’s my understanding that the thickness was for military weapons. cops don’t really need that much steel. You go cracking off a couple hundred rounds you’ll need it though.
@TheBassGuitarist1 ruger
@zboyco do you like smiths or rugers better
@zboyco thats a 357 retards not a bb gun fagots
Just got one and shot it today…it’s Amazing, but the concurring spread is hell.
That thing is gorgeous! I had the new version of the 686 with the Hogue grips and the built-in safety lock…eh. It was nice but next time around, I’m gonna be looking for an older model like the one you have there.
What’s with the two dislikes? Are the fuckin gay ?
@Antarath
In other words. totally identical to yours. I would never have found out how old it was until I took off the wooden grips on day and there was a date stamp on em.
I like the grips on yours
Gaaawd I love that gun. I have a 1984 model
I got a more recent version of the 686 S&W 357 magnum 6″ with the rubber grip. It’s really cool but the wood grip is more beautiful because more “traditionnal”
grandpa has the snub nose version and the most powerful bullets that rip through almost anything
@DimaundSaschaFan check out my page to see me fire mine. let me know what you think
@DimaundSaschaFan
the 686 is my favorite revolver
@CajunCatfish12 um LOL plz tell me ur not serious with that question lolz.
@CajunCatfish12 its a springer so it can only use .12g bb’s to get high velocity
