Sako TRG-22 Sniper Rifle - Cold Weather Handload Shooting

We took the TRG-22 out to the range on a cold, rainy day here in Oklahoma to test some new handloads and see how the mechanism and scope performed in inclement weather. After a few tweaks of the scope, we dialed it in and I shot a sweet 10-shot group from 350 yards. The handload was 42 grains of MR 4064 powder with a 168 grain Sierra BTHP. We also used two cameras and walkies to try and capture the realtime shooting experience for the video. Sure beats walking downrange to look at targets!
do more vids on the trg 22 pls : D
Hi there, just wondering what cartridge OAL for your handloads have you found to be the best?
You should train on your prone position, get it consistent and put the hands where they should be - I get regular 5-6 cm groups on 300 meters /330 yd with ease with my AW .308 and a similar load as yours.. good luck!
@onlivegamer I live in Wyoming and would pay Bucks to be able to have a range like that to shoot at .
isn`t the trg a sub m.o.a. rifle?
Nice!! Greetings from New Hampshire where the only thing more fun than a day of shooting is a night of howlin and growlin. That’s the kind of gun control I’m talkin about. Be well and thanks for the vid.

that rifle’s damn expensive… not sure i’ll be adding that to my collection any time soon !! nice shooting guys, looked like fun
you could improve your consistency a great deal if you cradled the rear of the stock with proper support with the left hand. stabilize your body in a more relaxed posture so that you don’t fight its natural position. keep off the point of your elbows. your dope is good.
The range is the Red Castle Gun Club at Zink Ranch north on HWY 97 from Sand Springs. It’s a members-only club, so for membership info just Google search “Red Castle Tulsa” and check out the site.
where is that range in oklahoma? I live in Tulsa and I go to tulsa firearms to shoot but I want to go to a good range where I can shoot some rifles and be outside.
Whenever you get the chance to jump the pond you can come shoot with us anytime! Only one condition–we can go shoot with you in the UK next time we’re over . . . we appreciate the kind words, thanks for stopping by. Be sure to sub!
Sako TRG-22 .308 - Fantastic bit of kit love shooting mine here in the UK but would like the chance to come & shoot it in the USA. Like the videos you guys make look forward to seeing more from you and very good shooting father & son.
Thanks!
Red Castle Gun Club is the premier range in Oklahoma, and probably one of the best in the nation.
Nice Shooting too!
Nice shooting range
I me too i got to fondle a M2HB at a gun show last year but i would love to have one or even at least shoot one playing with it is not the same as shooting it. And if you ever get a chance to fire a 107 or an 82a1 you’ll fall in love thats forsure i know i did.
Sweet, beautiful weapon. I’d love to get my hands on a 107 or a 82A1 but I think my next .50BMG project will be a M2HB or M3AC. I’m a HUGE fan of the firearms genius of the legendary John Browning . . .
It’s a great rifle that maximizes the accuracy potential of a quality .308 Win round. Excellent build quality, compatibilty with all mil-spec accessories, and out-of-the-box sub-MOA accuracy justifies the price tag, imo.
Now this rifle holds a hefty pricetag is it worth the extra green?
Yes, .308 Win.
.308 ?
I have an 82A1 semi auto same gun as a 107.
