I would love this gun with the hogue monogrips?
Finally? Ruger has shortened the rediculous safety warning and has put it on the underside of the barrel. AWESOME
Any and all of those would do a good job. The deer will not be? able to tell the difference.
Jeff
Jeff, if you were to deer hunt with a pistol/handgun- would you take a 357, 41 or 44 and what type. I expect you have taken a deer with a pistol.? thanks
Other advantages to the 4.2″ barrel are Sturm-Ruger can sell the SP101 to the public in Canada now, and 4.2″ barrels are the maximum length allowed in IDPA revolver divisions. It’s also a sweet little high-energy mountain gun? as well.
You can find that info on? our site, in the respective articles.
Merry Christmas Jeff,
In terms of velocity, accuracy, additional range, etc how does the SP101 model with the 4″ barrel compare? to the 3″ barrel?
Thanks.
@Gunblastdotcom Thank you for the response Mr. Quinn. I guess it’s back to hunting for a Wiley Clapp GP100. It’s? unfortunate that they aren’t production guns.
Depends upon your hand size, but my big? hand leaves the little finger under the grip.

Hello Mr. Quinn, is it possible to get your middle, ring, and pinkie finger on the grip with? your shooting hand? Or is the pinkie left to hang like on the LCRs?
I’ve been a fan of the .357 SP101 for a? long time now, but haven’t gotten around to picking one up. This 4″ version looks great, and may have to be my next gun purchase!
All kinds of likin’ for this video and this little kit gun. Merry? Christmas Jeff!!!!!!!!!
If jeff reviews it then you know it’s worth buying. And I love how the reviews have been getting a little longer… yet not fifteen f n minutes. Thanks jeff.
PS. how would you compare the recoil controlability to a ruger black hawk? 6.5 inch barrel? For speedy target acquisition?
If jeff reviews it then you know it’s worth buying. And I love how? the reviews have been getting a little longer… yet not fifteen f n minutes. Thanks jeff.
And no stupid WARNING on the barrel!!!!!!!!?
I always like you reviews. Before I buy I always check? out your views and advice. Thanks a bunch and keep those great reviews coming.
This? is the gun I’ve been waiting on Ruger to make. This is the best Christmas ever.
left? handed?
great vid. Nice groups for a 4 inch gun at 25yds. I’m assuming those are from your Ransom. I know? I can’t shoot that tight even off bags!
I love your reviews, and I am especially glad to see this one. I just bought a Ruger Service Six in 4″ .357 magnum. I bought a Simply Rugged holster for my Ruger Blackhawk in .45 colt because you endorse them and I’ve loved it so much that I’m planning to get one for the Service Six as well. Keep up the? good work and God bless.
Now that is an? impressive piece of Ruger steel.
Great review.? I’m a huge sp101 fan, myself!
Nice review. Their is a new player in the ammo field making an outstanding name. Underwood Ammo? is producing ammo >/= Buffalo Bore. Love his .357 loads!
Looks like a really nice? little revolver. It’d be nice if they came out with one in .327 Federal Magnum though!
Beautiful gun.?
