Ruger 10/22

Posted: November 17th, 2010 | Author: zackpow | Filed under: 22 Magnum Rifles | Tags: , , , , , , , , , , |

Plinking with my Ruger 10/22, one of the most popular rifles ever made. This rifle was a Christmas gift from my father in 1987. Tactical Solutions offers some products for the Ruger 10/22, but it’s Tactical Innovations that makes the magazine I was trying to think of in the video.

    Love the Ruger 10/22 great gun. Personally have a Bushmaster AR-15 with .22 conversion kit. Cheap, fun, and accurate. Just swap the bolt and mag back to 5.56.

    22LR stops a human being at close range, doesnt it? headshot or a bullet to the chest should be enough? Raw weapon! I really want one, but its hard to get weapons here and I’ve been convicted of aggravated assault when defending myself so I will not be able to purchase a firearm i many years! :(

    I think people don’t give the 22lr enough credit, especially out of a rifle and today’s high velocity rounds. Low recoil and noise you can stay on target and pump “something” full of lead. Perfect survival/home defense weapon in my opinion. Also perfect zombie gun.. haha. 30 cci stingers with ruin anythings day. Cheap to shoot as well. Lots of practice you can get very proficient with this or any 22 rifle. Perfect.

    @bandman232
    Keep checking the Big 5 ad each week. They put them on sale periodically. Bass Pro Shops has the basic model for $240 regular price. I bought mine on sale at K-Mart with the checkered stock for $90. But that was about 30 years ago.

    As an owner of a late 80’s 10/22, I think Ruger needs to make the quality craftsmanship and material that the “vintage” rifles had standard on the new production. Why they had to substitute the aluminum parts with a weird plastic polymer is beyond me…

    @EEKSPLEE My husband has a Marlin 22. He complains that aftermarket products for Marlin are sparse. Only 7 round or 10 round mags sold directly by Marlin at 20 dollars a mag. Great gun otherwise, the only gun of his I’m not afraid to shoot!

    @pvtjoker777 i would get the marlin but over both i prefer the remington 552 speedmaster

    Kind of curious, do you smoke the cigars or did you just buy the box?

  24. 24 ChromeArty said at 10:20 am on November 17th, 2010:

    yeah, the steel lips mags work way better than the “hot lips ” mags. I guess i got lucky with my ruger, I’ve never had a malfunction even after 500 rounds at a time. Great rifle.

    Gotta love the 10/22. I should dust mine off one of these days!
