nice, you showed the winchester platinum tip 500’s next to the hornady 460 red heads.

    i love my 500.

Puma makes that i think, but in my opinion marlin makes a far superior rifle.

ive seen the 454 casull in a lever action rifle. cant recall the brand

Ive just been thinking, the .500 mag and the .460 mag are rapidly becoming popular, and i hope sometime soon a company like marlin will adapt those two cartridges (as well as the .454 casull) to their lever action rifles.

kind of hard to compare a rifle cartridge to a handgun but the .444 marlin has the knockdown power of the 500 mag with flatter trajectory characteristics of the 460 mag. not as good as the 460 mag using 200 grain 460 mag hornadys but close to it. i guess it was made to replace the older .45-70 but it hasnt caught on enough and i would rather use a .45-70 anyways.

Where exactly would a .444 marlin sit in comparison to the rounds shown in your opinion?

I would be earnest in assuming it lies somewhere between the S&W .500 magnum and the S&W .460 magnum in terms of kinetic power over ballistic performance,
Hell of a round in any event, i’ve seen them follow some pretty flat trajectory patterns , resulting in fairly decent groupings for such a big heavy bastard chunk of lead,

Whats your take on the matter?

lol dude you must be listed under the state department’s Individual arsenal cache watch, and as a subscriber i can honestly say you probably hold more firepower on hand than a full canadian forces light infantry batallion

keep it up and you could probably overtake our entire army, we only have about 30,000 full time troops at any given time anyway lmao

44 mag. not much more higher in price than 357 mag and almost twice the power, but for me at least, able to be handled fine from recoil

Hey z, what would you get as a good all around revolver? In other words, whats the best compromise?

    357, 44 or .50?
