Ive been using federal ammo and having misfires and ruptured casings ? not sure if its the ammo(Jeff that ammo looks like 22 short in the case length) Or if something is wrong with the cylinder ?hammer spring tension , fireing pin ?…Its an old 3 screw . any help anyone..?
This past Friday I picked up a Modern Ruger single six in stainless at Sportsman’s Warehouse . I hope to go out next weekend and shoot it. It sure is pretty!:-)
Glad to hear that you’re a responsible man when it comes to guns.
I shot many birds and critters, sad to say. Not to speak ill of the dead, but my father gave me and my older brother each a Red Ryder bb gun and said, “Don’t shoot robins” (Michigan state bird), so we deduced that he was saying go ahead and shoot all the other birds. Man, we were so young and stupid! He could have gave us cameras or drawing supplies. But no, bb guns!
Still have flashbacks of being on that bad road for too long.
just a FYI I dont hunt and never shot a bird…just saying a lot of gujys who do dshoot do that and see them as pests, I always thought people who shot prarie dogs were messed up, come to find out the prarie dogs have a lot of disease and take over entiere areas and cause famine among other animals and keep farmers from makign a living, so if it comes down to people or animals peopel always win, thats just me…
I like your review save for the part about shooting crows. Crows are amazingly smart birds and while it’s true that like all living animals they eat, that fact shouldn’t be held against them to the point that people should be encouraged to go out and shoot them.
I don’t understand some people’s philosophy when it comes to shooting guns. Why not just shoot a can or paper target … and allow other creatures to live and enjoy the life God gave ‘em?
Hunting and eating the meat is okay, but … .
do you prefer one bullet over the other between the long rifle rounds and the mag rounds?
good video
i halv a heritage arms single action revolver, same exact thing as ruger single six. its sweet, thing is very comfortable to shoot.UNLOADED its fun to twerl around ,and not actually that hard to do XD
Pretty damn good shooting Jeff, cool video as always. Seems like the four clicks sound of a good revolver and the sound of a pump shotgun would be enough to scare off a robber without having to fire a shot! and btw you’re an idiot if you think shooting .22s doesn’t need hearing protection
Nice old trhee screw - I have the original 63 single six w/o the mag conversion. Nice crisp hammer cock - 4 clicks in the dark is scary to unwelcome guests. Beautiful older gun….keep it well brother….a great gun to keep all around.
FYI - best round for the SS are CCI stingers. great round / great accuracy.
yes I traded my other revovler for a glock 36, this one cost me $250 but cna be bought most aplces for like $300 the bobcat is about $250 as well, maybe more these days, try gunbroker…
did you get rid of your other revolver how much was this won where did you get it how much would the beretta bobcat cost
Actually Rossco139 Cutlerylover is absolutely right. Anyone who doesn’t wear ear AND eye protection when shooting ANY firearm is a fool.
You might want to listen real close to Cutlerylover, and learn from him because he’s one of the very few people up here on YouTube who knows EXACTLY what they’re doing when it comes to firearms safety.
@Rossco139 Those 22 handguns can still damage your hearing…the rifle on the other hand, I think anything over some foam earplugs is overkill.
its dumb for anyone to say not to wear ear protection, you cna have permanant ear damage even from 22’s
hahaha ear protectoin for a 22 XD
Thx for the vid. I would’ve LOVED to see you do the rapid fire 5 shot like in the Wild West movies. Too bad you cut yourself.
To get best accuracy from “ANY” weapon, must try different brands and bullet weights; each gun has own preference. Fast ammo may hit harder but isn’t always most accurate, mostly the opposite in short barreled weapons. Can get Single six with both 22LR & 22mag cylinders. ractice with 22LR, & hunt with 22Mag. good weapon to learn control. Rear Sight Adjustable” DO NOT USE UNCOATED BULLETS in RUGERS, will lead up due to extremely sharp riflings. Target should be level with pistol barrel.
just keep an eye out for ones that seel at gunbroker dot (com) whatever they sell for it whats they are worth in a current market, but I wouydl say one like mine brand new never used may fetch $500 -$700 to a collector..
Maybe you can help me. I have a Ruger .22 caliber single six (3 screws) that was my fathers and it has a number 156730 on it. I have researched as far as I can and haven’t found a value yet. Can u suggest somewhere for me to go? thanks
Oh I would love to go to town on the squirrels in my neighborhood with a Ruger any day!
That thing looks like it has little to no recoil. So cool!
I have a Ruger Bisley Hunter in stainless, very nice, lots of fun, shoots LR and Magnum.
