Without a doubt it has it’s conveniences. Once upon a time the US decided not to follow the British in the use of this b/c getting shot in the mid section while wearing magazines of ammo is no fun. When you wear this vest hunting is it orange or do you wear the required vest on top of that?

I think because it is a smaller round, the clearance is sufficient within the barrel-Im not sure but this probably would make your rifling ineffective. I think this kit is for more training in dexterity and systems practice than true AR marksmanship. for that, you’ll probably need to use full-size rounds.

    Ammo’s too expensive!!!
We might as well be shooting beebee’s!!!

.22LR is nice, BUT I want FULL POWER!!

I always use a vest in my systems because it is the easiest way to store things. When hunting, it is best to keep you extra magazines, first aid kit, maybe a notepad or book, and other items close by. While you may have larger or long-term items stored in a backpack or campground, the vest is a great way to organize yourself.

In training for the military, hunting or shooting in general, you should always use systems identical if not similar to the ones you would use in the field. If you make use of a vest in your system, be sure to train with it too!

Unlike “pimped out” guns, standard vests are not usually worn by your average robber or gang member.

might want to put some type of a antiseize lube on the 5.56 shaped tip of the part like what you would use on the breech plug on a muzzle loader.

Never fear, photofudge, here in Maine we still teach our youngsters how to shoot! I had my four year old with me last time I was shooting two weekends ago! She loves it. My seven month old fell asleep at the range. That kid’ll sleep through anything! Cozy in her ear muffs LOL

    Your mom’s face is outdated.

Not to pick any nits or nothin’ but the difference is a THOUSANDTH of an inch. But it’s really give or take. A gunsmith friend of mine tells me that his calipers have measured anywhere from .223 to .228 inches when measuring various makes and models of .22LR. Bottom line, they’re close enough for government work!

Hey NUT I’ve heard you give good advice before inhandguns and knives and saying not to have them pimped out so that if you should ever use it and go to court you don’t look like a vigilante. I agree..These “vests” that everyone is wearing looks like a dog gone SWAT team. A fellow walks into 7-11 looking like that which is his right to do so I guess I’m already thinking this is going south. Comments?

ignore the thumbs down, most owners get upset at this terminology because politicians use words like “machine guns” to wrongly imply that citizens are carrying military hardware. Machine guns are fully automatic while these are semi-auto, and despite some newly elected president no soldier in his right mind would carry one of these on a foreign battlefield. It’s good to see you care enough to ask though! If you watch enough TNP you might just want to join in on the fun :)

    you’re outdated

Spike Tactical makes a great .22 LR upper. A lot more expensive, but if you want to shoot a bunch of .22 ammo really accurately, you cannot beat it. The twist on the barrel accommodates the .22 LR a little better.

  18. 18 sittingbull09 said at 5:42 am on April 27th, 2009:

Machine gun is kind of an out-dated term, bro.

By “they” do you mean the invisible elves?

  22. 22 ssstealth said at 5:42 am on April 27th, 2009:

NutnFancy: are you rocking MULTICAM in the intro??? I’ve slowly been converting my gear to multicam. I’m personally pretty psyched about the pattern.

Also, do you think that those heavy weight, 60grain Aguila Subsonic Sniper rounds would stabilize well in AR’s?

  23. 23 shaokem said at 5:42 am on April 27th, 2009:

no its not a machine gun… this is a carbine rifle. its a semi-auto and it shoots a .223 or 5.56 which is the same diameter as a .22 cal bullet. there for the conversion kit is a great idea for training and keeping range time cheap!

  24. 24 ofitsownwieght said at 5:42 am on April 27th, 2009:

no this is not a machine gun and machine guns shoot very small bullets

  25. 25 wonca said at 5:42 am on April 27th, 2009:

I picked up my conversion kit last month and love it
