That’s a really cute squirrel, but that is a very nice shot.
22 is a fire arm and therefore in most states u need a license a 177.cal is just a pellet gun but it is more than enough power check out my vids its 177 cal that i use
I use A .177 to shoot. anyways I usually try to hit them in the neck, they die instantly. I think the twitching is just the nerves going crazy as the animals body shuts down completely. I dont know much about the science behind it. From my experience my gun doesn’t kill them on headshots.
.177 will give higher velocity and more range but .22 will give you much more energy (knock down power) upon hitting target. I have seen discussions on the accuracy of .177 vs. .22 and haven’t really seen a concrete difference making one better than the other. .177 seems to suit just fine though for small game hunting. Pellet choice is also a big factor!
Hey what is the tradeoff when using .22 vs. .177 for hunts like these? I am planning on starting to hunt small game, but…which to use?
Thanks for your support!
Thank you and agreed, even after a clean head shot, most squirrels still have nervous twitching. Some Youtube posters choose to edit this out. I choose to film from beginning to end.
Tell you what man, most non-hunters have no idea how hard those damned squirls are to kill. Good humane shot there
