600 FPS Crosman .22 Caliber 2240 Co2 pistol!!

Getting over 600 FPS from a 14.7 gr pellet with a standard 12 gm co2 canister. This will blow away your browning 800 mag in .22 caliber. Browning 800 mag will get you 535 FPS with a 14.7 gr pellet. Converting the Crosman 2240 to PCP would get you even more power.

@papaburger My pistol will be a PCP in the next week or so. I will need a hand pump it will be charged at 3000 PSI should expect velocities over 1000 FPS thank you for speeding up the process. I have been waiting to do this for some time. Just wanted to see what the most I could get of a 12gr co2 canister.

@Xxoo0o0o0ooxX damn you know your airguns; i don’t think ive ever pumped it over 10 times (on the new one). On the old one theres a broken seal between the airtube and the top barrel because i pumped it 20 times back in the day

I’ll put up a vid of them both sometime; overall the old one is more of a true shot - i donno if I got a lemon but on the new one (with breach open) even if i adjust my sight, it still shoots way off

@papaburger You have to remember that they test airguns with the lightest pellet available. The marauder pistol is very amazing & I would like to have one I am sure with some work you could get it up to 1000 FPS or more. Rated at 700 FPS the gun probably only shoots about 650 FPS with 14.7gr pellets. however I got my 2240 many years ago. One more mod would make it a PCP

@papaburger I don’t even know if this would show anything compared to a .22 Browning but I thought it would be fun to test my cheap Chinese spring gun with different pellets. Will post soon :-)

Man that’s intense! Custom parts like that are pretty pricey/rare where I live.

Could you tell me some of the specs of that fine 2240 you have there? :) What are the main mods?

  9. 9 Xxoo0o0o0ooxX said at 7:54 am on November 20th, 2010:

@papaburger Yes it is cheaper & I still may buy one some time. However it will only work best with the 14.7gr Pellets. The spring guns to not produce enough gas behind a heavy projectile. So the browning would high 300’s or low 400 with some thing like a 20gr pellet. I have not tested this my self only going by what I know. Please visit 1942nuclear channel for great browning 800 mag Chronographing only in .177 but he shoots a lot of different pellets threw it from ultra lights to 16.9 pellets

@Chwigga89 Your 1377’s are only clocking out at about 540-550 FPS Stock you can bore out the valve & angle the exhaust port. Those 2 things alone will get your 1377’s up to 600 FPS with 25-30 pumps. Install a flat top piston to get the same power with only 12 pumps. Poly transfer port will add a few extra FPS’s
