I was out shooting and decided to do a little target work @ 100 yards. believe it or not, i actually only fired the six shots shown in the video at the target! I only missed the 12″ X 12″ target with one round. I was pleased but have a lot of improving to do. Please stay tuned for some 200 yard shooting with my same Ruger Super Redhawk ,44 Magnum (7.5″ barrel). Ammo is the stuff I outlined verbally in the video. I thank my good friend Steven for the camera work. Thanks for watching, everyone! @twhah08 Thanks for the tip. I’ll keep that in mind :) We had a 10 mph. wind from the right as well.

    FYI,,your shooting left because of your stance, lean into the weapon and get your head up, I have the same gun and shoot pop cans at 125 yrds iron sites with factory Hornady Jacketed XTP 300 grain ammo. Keep on keepin on!

    @IREALYLOVEGUNS I’ve really been wanting to read Keith’s books! Thanks for the support! My belief is that free standing with open sights requires more skill than bench rest and is therefore a better representation of skill. Also, if you’re hunting or find yourself in a firefight it is unlikely that a bench rest will be kickin’ around. Thank you for telling me about the forearms on knees! I’ll have to try that!! I haven’t had time to reload cases but I can’t wait to start!

    Hey BigAgitator, looks good. I think you would enjoy the book “Sixguns by Keith” written by Elmer Keith. You’re correct in not shooting from a bench, esp at 100 yards. Offhand is KING. If I’m testing a load I’ll sit with my beck nestled in the tire of my truck and put my forearms on my knees (as Keith describes). That’s pretty freakin rock solid, but offhand is where it’s at. Look into reloading if the 44 is your passion.

    @Chevyracing000 My group improves when i bench rest the gun but I am working on improving skill. If I wanted to get the best groups the firearm can possibly achieve I would clamp it in a rest and mount a scope… This is more about improving my shooting skills for hunting. Unfortunately I have not done any shooting recently.

    @BigAgitator Thats the nice thing about these revolvers they shoot like a dream and you can make hits at those distances no problem. But if you put it on a bench with a good rest you can shoot a really nice group with them.

    @Chevyracing000 Your statement is somewhat true. I’m not exactly claiming to be a hero- just pissin’ around with my gun. if I thought it was something real special I would have at least used a tripod, ha ha!

    @leifericson923 I actually only paid 625 for the piece… slightly used. They’re only about 790-900 new depending on the store I think. Thanks for the compliment :)

    @ericesico Thanks!
    I thought blowing-up jugs was stupid ’til I tried it. It’s a lot of fun!! Please lmk what kind of video you’d like me to make next, eg; long range/special targets/comparison to other guns/rapid fire, etc… I always love to get feedback/new ideas
