22 Magnum Ballistics Test (Remington Polymer Tip)

Posted: December 29th, 2011 | Author: zackpow | Filed under: 22 Magnum Pistol | Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , |

This is probably a good *Rifle* round. I used a pistol, so it did not fragment as intended due to the lower velocities. It did exhibit cavitation and disruption at about 4 inches depth, and i assume the bullets started to tumble or yaw or spin or something after the polymer tips got blown out.

@jayrod68 But 22WMR IS AFFORDABLE! I get 50 rounds of 22WMR for less than 20 rounds of .308! 22LR is an inaccurate design! 22WMR & 17HMR are by design more accurate. I read that 17HMR was designed to be MATCH accurate in all its loadings. The 22LR case is as wide as the bullet! Oof! The 22WMR & 17HMR cases are? wider than their bullets. This alone proves they are better than .22LR. If you want to shoot cheaply, choose .22LR. And remember, 22WMR & 17HMR have further useful ranges than 22LR :D

@Fookwah well, remington makes some decent guns. But this ammo pisses me off maybe if it was shot from a rifle it would perform decently.?

I say General, I don’t think I’d put up with that one bit, no! Not one bit! I motion that we chastise Remington immediately, and without mercy. We might go as far as sending them correspondence that say’s, “I do not care for you. Your bullets are overpriced shit!”? And draw a little picture of us riding behind the Winchester Logo in unashamed Brokeback fashion! That will convince them we’re not just putting them on!

@jayrod68 well the 17 hmr is a small bullet in a necked down 22? magnum case. and the 17 fireball is a smaller bullet in a necked down .22lr stinger case. The 17’s shoot flatter due to higher velocities or some stupid shit that doesn’t matter because jesus already made the .223.

lol.? i want to know why sir why the fuck does .17 hmr and .17 fireball cost ass raping than .22lr almost double the fucking costs.
